Room isn't that large but 52 is too big, it would be nearly 2 feet further back than the current TV

Just got to see if I get a Christmas bonus

Can you get a decent 1080p LCD for under a grand?  I was aiming around 40", would consider 37, 42, etc.  I also want 3 HDMI inputs, but they all seem to have those.

I think it depends on your view of decent and how important 3 HDMI inputs are.

Marks set is superb, has 1080p and cost under a grand... but has 2 HDMI inputs.

Mine has 3, 1080p and various other impressive sounding bits but cost over a grand (not a huge amount over).

Decide exactly whay you want from it, how much you can really spend, and then look around.
Remember the prices of them are only heading one way.... :)

Didn't catch what Mark has.  3 inputs not critical, but only have 1 at the mo' and it's a bit annoying.

The 40W2000 is just over a grand, but can't find the 40W3000 for less than 1600.  Would definitely consider it for 1100, but no way I can stretch to 1600.

Mark has a Samsung... he can tell the model etc.

40W3000 can be found for a lot less than £1,600.  :)

This is the TV, a PS3 and a 5 year warranty for £1,439. Good feedback for the company too.

The 40W2000 is a bit more hit and miss. There were lots of reports of problems with "clouding" on this model.

Have to disagree. It defo has 3 hdmi.  I know, as I have the same TV ;)

Admittedly, only 2 are round the back, 3rd is on the side.

If I had to pick complaint - and this is the only fault I can find - its a PITA selecting the VGA input.  To the point that I am going to have to HDMI the MCE

Ive just bought the same TV and im quite happy with it but it takes ages to change channel after youve pressed the button.

That Samsung is tempting, and the right price.  Saw those in the Bullring today too.  More or less have the 26" little brother and like it a lot.  :y

Oh, another 'fault' - the default brightness is a bit strong for my taste, had to calm that down...

I wish I was back in the states sometimes.  >:(  My parents just called about a tv they're looking at.  Sony 46" X range top of the line LCD.  Guess how much?!























under 1,300 quid after taxes!!!  Bu&&er!  >:( >:(
