More details to follow but after a long weekend of spanner wielding James' V6 is running on LPG!

A bit of a misfire under load at medium RPM on LPG which we think is ignition related, and which seems to be clearing gradually with LPG miles. Other than that it all went very smoothly.

It was a lot of work but hopefully there'll soon be a favourable report on how it went on the way home.

So missing could be plugs....ht leads or dis pack  :-/ (or plugs and coil pack on a dbw)

Presumably its ok on idle and high revs  :-/.....so it sounds like setup is okish....migh just need tweaking a bit tho

Yes. This was foremost in our minds. It certainly feels like an ignition misfire and the lambda on one bank goes lean when it happens, pretty much confirming this. We tried cutting individual cylinders to petrol to track it down but weren't able to find anything conclusive. Plugs are reasonably new and look OK. Changing plug leads and DIS pack could be a challenge with all the stuff we've bolted onto the engine

....so it sounds like setup is okish....migh just need tweaking a bit tho

We gave it a 50 mile drive with yours truly in the passenger seat with a lap top. The automatic setup seemed to have got the idle fuelling fine but it needed a good bit of tweaking under load. Once I'd figured out how to drive the software it was pretty simple and we had fuelling error < 5% over pretty much the whole range. Misfire was getting less, either due to the fuelling getting better or because the plugs were cleaning up a bit. Anyway, he'll put some miles on it on the way home and we'll see what happens.

Sounds like you've it pretty well spot on  

Mine misses badly on idle when it first switches when coldish or after its started on warm then switches...but is fine on acceleration, coldish and fine when hot idling.....tho plugs have done 20k now.....badly overdue  
This week its gonna get new plugs/air filter (thats done 20k too   )  Plus oil/filter change (not that has anyting to do with it)
Tho i suspect my coil pack is getting tired  :-/

I'm very impressed with the idle and switching on this system. When we first started it (on petrol) we were watching the vapouriser temperature rise and at the switch point (30 deg. c) we heard the gas injectors start rattling. I expected it to stall but it didn't flinch. From a completely virgin LPG system full of air and never run on gas to running completely on LPG without a splutter. It changes over one cylinder at a time with a couple of hundred milliseconds between each which no doubt helps.

It idles exactly as it does on petrol. If anything when you blip the throttle when cold it hesitates a bit on LPG but that goes once fully warm.

The only thing I would say is that the injectors rattle a little loudly. Sounds like the valve clearances are a bit loose from within the car, although they did seem to "bed in" and quieten a little with use. They are also not mounted on their rubber vibration mountings due to bonnet clearance issues.  

Anyway, time will tell but it looks to be a good kit. We popped into the local LPGA bloke to get some fittings yesterday and he pooh poohed it a little, saying we'd be back to him for a decent set of injectors in 5,000 miles, but from first impressions I'd say it's a nice system.

Good feeling isn't it - I did purge mine by connecting relays to the battery for a second.

When I first tried mine I was astounded that it changed with no issues.

I've just arrived home.

Gave it some "beans" on the 100 mile drive.

Well, she murmered once on the way out of Kevin's Road. Other than that, she never missed a beat all the way home. Not one single misfire.

She did a constant 80mph all the way home, and just to test it under load, I floored it in 5th up some steep hills - it consistently pulled up to 100mph (would have gone beyond) - seems more powerful than on petrol.

So all in all a huge sucess, I think it's sorted. Some new plugs for good measure, and job done.

Injectors now almost silent.

I need to extend a huge thankyou to some friends for this weekend, namely Kevin, for being so helpful, willing, and hands on with the conversion, Emma, for her hospitality and good food - and my mate Markie, for Being such a diamond and getting stuck in with us. Between the three of us, it was no problem.

To look at the install, you would think it's a Pro conversion no problem.

Polyflex LPG pipe is a must. So easy to route.

Anyhow, I now need to head to cardiff, I'll post a bit more tomorrow.

I better not say what I did on a local bypass while getting rid of a Disiesel Golf yesterday but the over 90mph surge was good!

Interesting, less room on top though than the extended plenum engines.

I let my injectors flop around on their pipes and wires and you can only just hear them.

Are they rigidly mounted?
