Fault codes
« on: 04 June 2009, 15:03:38 »

I posted about 2 weeks ago that I had 2 fault codes (46 Secondary Air Pump Voltage Low and 57 Idle Air Control Voltage Low).

Advice on here was to unplug SAI as not required and this woould clear that code and to clean the IACV.

I tried cleaning the IACV twice with no success so whilst at the scrapper today I picked up another one. I have put this one on and still have the same code.

Car runs fine - could it be that the code just hasn't cleared or should I be trying something else?  :-/

How long do the codes stay for? Or am I wrong and I should still be looking for a fault?  :-/

How are you getting the fault codes, paperclip or a code reader?
If you have a code reader clear the fault and see if it returns.
If you're using a paperclip I've a code reader and will happily clear the codes for you if you fancy a ride over to Bolton.

Paperclip. I have a cheapo tech 2 but I haven't got it working yet and I don't think it will clear codes anyway.

I would gladly drive over to you but the car is not taxed or insured at the minute so it will have to wait until I sort that out.

Thanks Captain  :y
