Yep, I'd agree. The AC system has a low pressure switch and once the system pressure falls below a certain level, it will not kick in.
I'm assuming the front of the compressor is not spinning and the revs don't change when you tuen it on.

Go for a regass, you may be lucky. I was :)

Mine was leaking from the compressor seals. Unfortunately, it's a pattern part that replaced the original, although I do have the old compressor ..... it'll probably rot down before I manage to do anything with it. ::) :y

Air con is now fully functional.
Took it to Andy Stockton this morning - :y :y asautocare in widnes :y :y
Gas low/non existant in fact
vacuumed the system to dry it out stuck in leak tester
refilled it and checked it over.
Could swear that a pair of polar bears and a gaggle of penguins took up residence on the back seat on the way home - Cold air con !!!!! enough to freeze the thingi's of a whatsit.
Cost £50 +VAT   excellent value a working air con!!!!!! :y :y :y

Yea, got mine re-gassed last week and what a difference it makes. Even yesterday in the monsoon conditions near Stamford, no misting up inside the car. Fantastic!
