Flashing EML

Can anyone help me with this. When ignition turned on eml coninously flashes.

Immobiliser symptons. Have you checked that the transponder chip is seated firmly in the key :question

What i mean is the EML continuosly flashes when switch is on.

Well my key is a horse shoe. The electronic component got damaged. So i had key without it. Where in the horse shoe is the chip. As i have seen it open and empty.

Mech tells me there is a chip. How does it look like. might have probably jumped out.

Transponder chip is shown on the left.


No chip means you`ll have to get another one programmed to the car.

i never noticed this on my key when it was starting the vehicle.

All the same i am told i can get one. But i am in Africa and i bought the vehicle with the Carpass.

How then do i get the new Key and Chip???? Please can anyone assist.

E-Bay or a Vauxhall/Opel dealer. Then it will need programming with "Tech II"

Well Yes, I called Pentagon Vauxhall and they want proff of ownership.

Who then do i give it to programme? I do have a Bill of Sale from the Garage i bought it from is that a proff of ownership???

Can you estimate cost????

Bill of sale + registration documents + carpass + personal identification should be sufficient. Assuming you have a Pentagon VX dealership where you are they should have the equipment to programme it to your car. No idea of cost in your country but IIRC about £70 here, not sure though
