hi guys sorry for bothering ye again my missuis is going to town tomorrow to get the socket for the chip any idea of the proper name for it guys thanks again  :y

I think I asked for an Eprom socket adaptor, 18 hole. Got mine fron Maplins for £1.01 ( :-? Stange price !)

It's called a DIL socket (DIL = Dual In Line).
