ABS TC pipes
« on: 10 June 2009, 22:58:52 »

I put a 3l v6 engine in my 2l omega. I replaced the ABS unit with a ABS TC unit. Theres only five pipes going into the unit. There was six pipes in the standard unit. Could someone tell me which pipes Go into the ABS TC unit.

Sounds like the original ABS unit was 3 channel so the plumbing to the rear brakes is common whereas the new one is a 4 channel. You car doesn't have the plumbing to support this unit so you probably need to revert to the old 3 channel one and forget traction control - unless earlier V6s had the 3 channel unit?.

If the plumbing was put right you might well find that the electrical connections are different. :-/

Regarding the pipes, I can speculate that the "v" and "h" stand for Vor and Hinter (German approximating to front and rear respectively). I think you'll find there is just a single brake line running to the rear wheels on your car whereas the new ABS/TC has an independent output for each rear wheel.

I have the connections right for the ABS TC unit cause i rewired the hole car with a MV6 wiring loom. I even have the ABS TC unit installed in the car. All i have to do is just connect the pipes to each caliper.
