auto gearbox showing???

I have just had a oil cooler change and new gear oil put in underneath and drained excess off like its says on this site but I still have "Auto Gearbox" displaying and it doesnt pull away very well and lights not showing on the side of the auto gearstick like normal either??? any advice??

the light on the gearstick is a plug and play unit, it pops out.   the surround of the gearstick can prize out (see owners manual as it shows u in there about removing it for nocking it into N for towing).   all u do is prize out the big gear surround, and the ligh up strip is fed by a wire on a plug, check its on.   if its on,  you might have a fault elsewhere

It's not 'pulling away very well' cos it's pulling away in 3rd gear. You might have disturbed the gearselector on the side of the box under the car.
I had the same message once after a cam belt change - I'd forgotten the throttle position sensor right at the front of the engine.

plug and play still in not sure where the sensor is? thought Id be smart and undid the battery and the radio has stayed in SAFE mode so cant reprogram the radio security in is it really sat 13th lol

Maybe leave car and start again tomorrow lol gearbox error was there before I changed the oil cooler as was the slow pulling away pics to help me would be good lol beano style lol

For radio code you need to have key in pos II and turn stereo off, then press and hold the AS button while turning on the stereo and keep it held for a few seconds until the stereo beeps and then it will ask for the code...

yeah did that and switched engine on tried it that way but makes a funny noise in engine and still stays in SAFE made very annoying. but still in good spirits lol

its the 14th I got radio going flushed remaining goo from Tank, still not sure where to find the gear selector underneath as Car still showing automatic gearbox message.

please advise.

Underneath car, follow linkage from gear lever to driver`s side of box. Look up and you will see selector switch. Held on with two bolts plus you`ve got the multi-connector to disconnect.
