Gas has leaked out of A/C system again
« on: 15 June 2009, 17:03:30 »

I had one of the valves changed on the A/C system, this one was clearly leaking. I thought this was the cause of the problem, however in about 2 weeks the gas has leaked out again and the A/C is not blowing nowhere near cold. Is it worth having the other valve changed or are there other common areas worth investigating first.

It is about 33 deg C in the morning and gets up to 45-50 deg C during the day! I appreciate the A/C is going to struggle a bit.

using a gas with dye will help you to pinpoint the problem..mostly they loose gas from the old o-rings  and radiator..

but if the leak is from the compressor repair will be costly..

last week the clit climate turned to a saga as I visited the repair shop 4 times..and they find another leak everytime :o >:(

have a look under the compressor as they leak from the centre joint, check the condenser next, and finally if you had dye injected into the system shine a uv light on the top/side of the gearbox bellhousing,a leaking evaporator should show up here as the  drain is just above
