Cheers guys  :)

Had a great time thanks  :D And it only rained for 1/2 hr last night.....all the rest of the time it was either sun or overcast a bit.....couple of days a bit blowy.....but all in all a good holiday.  :)

Tho' just spent the last couple of hours cleaning  :( and it still all aint done.
Prob i guess when you give your front door key to a builder, so they can fit a new bathroom whilst your away.......bathroom isnt finished.....altho the necessities are, but route from the front door to bathroom looked like a building site when i got home  :(

They reckon it will be all be finished by midweek  :)

Knowing builders, they probably didn't start work till the day before you came back.

Same thing happened to a neighbour of mine.

Hello Dave - hope you had a nice time.

Lets have some details

Hi Martin......i assume you mean my hol....and not my building site  ;D

I didnt do much actually.....stayed at caravan park at Swyre.....bout 4 miles from Bridport.
Went to Portland Bill....not much there really apart from a lighthouse and a pub.....spent more time looking at the inside of the pub  ;D
Went to West Bay about 3 times.....nice small harbour....mostly fishing vessels, if you catch the tide right you'll see them unloading fish.....which they will let you buy.
Went to Lyme Regis....quite a pretty seaside town.....saw the RNLI go rescue a boat...and promptly made a donation to them as I walked back pass a RNLI shop.
Spent most of the time walking along the beach with my dog...she did some swimming....i didnt ..shes pretty knackered now! ....and me also!  ;D
Discovered a pub in Pucknowle that does an excellent steak and kidney pie  ;)
Tho most of meals apart from fry up in the mornings we had in a pub called the Bull at Sywre....good nosh....friendly landlord and best of all 30yrds from caravan park....so no worries about driving after a few beers  :D

Lyme Regis to Chesil Beach - looks a nice area - been to Portland - pretty boring really - think it was 17 18 or 19 years ago with friends - quite odd really because it was a large group and a few of us had no transport so I risked taking a bike with blown alternator from Gloucester to just north of Portland - and I stopped in Bristol for petrol - couldn't bump start due to weight* - so thought I'll try the starter and it burst into life!!!!

The rest of my friends managed to squeeze into a car as the rest of the group didn't bother about us!

* It is amazing how much you can carry on a 250
