I think that is about right for standard spec, if you go for getting the ECU chipped then you may well see more than that. I think I usually get around 35 in town and upto 40 on a good run  :y

I'm getting 32-33 round town and a run closer to 45. Been drining like an old man just to see how the fuel cons. would be and I'm up to 36 round town atm and climbing slowly.

I can only manage 33-34, and thats mostly motorway driving and national roads.  I think mine needs a damn good service though

I should say so with those figures! Mines due in about 900 miles and we're off camping in Scotland in 2 1/2 weeks. 494 each way so service before we go or when we get back? I'm edging towards before to keep the MPG up in the 'tight ass' bracket ;D ;D

The damn good service must include a oil/filter change (with Vx preferably - then done every 3k) and a fuel filter change, but fill the filter with Forte or Diesel Magic before fitting.

When finished, start the motor up and hold at 1500rpm for a few minutes - take for a rag round the block for 10 minutes and that will hopefully clean the muck out of your injector pump a little bit (tip courtesy of Omegatoy)

As a rough measure of consumption I always get 500-530 out of a tank round town, and then on a run will normally get 600.

Yep that's about what I get just on local stop/start driving. Can't say it's any better consumption wise since having the chip in, but it don't half fly.
BTW I drive like an old man, cause I'm just about there anyway :P

Autos - 33-35mpg, manuals approach 40mpg. both less if not chipped.

i always used to get 450 - 500m from a tank from my old chipped elite td, invariably driven hard....

My big test will be when we go away in a couple of weeks. Going to fill her to the brim and sit on the cruise at 75ish (M6 permitting). 494 miles according to google maps route planner so should easily do it on a tank although I'll probably fill up in Glasgow on the way through.

My 96 CDX auto estate with 203,000miles on the clock does approx 29 around town 34-35 on a run, the 2000 Elite auto estate with 130,000 miles only manages 27 around town and 31-33 on a run and does not feel as lively as the old CDX, Apart from what appears to be a slight weep from the leak off pipe I can't explain the difference. I've always been a bit disappointed with the economy and performance of the later Elite which has had regular servicing and seems to run sweetly except at a standstill in traffic, when I get an annoying vibration at tick-over. One day if I ever get time I might get the injectors checked :-[

I get a proven 33 mpg around here.
It's been chipped, and gets a fair ragging, (normally from Mrs Sethsmate!), so we're reasonably happy with this figure.
It performs very well too, especially given the terrain here!
