My 96 CDX auto estate with 203,000miles on the clock does approx 29 around town 34-35 on a run, the 2000 Elite auto estate with 130,000 miles only manages 27 around town and 31-33 on a run and does not feel as lively as the old CDX, Apart from what appears to be a slight weep from the leak off pipe I can't explain the difference. I've always been a bit disappointed with the economy and performance of the later Elite which has had regular servicing and seems to run sweetly except at a standstill in traffic, when I get an annoying vibration at tick-over. One day if I ever get time I might get the injectors checked :-[
They're reasonably good consumption figures for an auto-boxed tractor.

Change ALL the leak-off pipes, and ensure that both the fuel filter-to-fuel heater, and fuel heater-to-filter casing are securely tightened. Cured mine.

The damn good service must include a oil/filter change (with Vx preferably - then done every 3k) and a fuel filter change, but fill the filter with Forte or Diesel Magic before fitting.

:y

Well in the garage i have oil filter, fuel filter, air filter, 2 gallons of 10/40 and a pot of diesel magic.   All i need now is time.  ::)

I know its desperate though, as i have had it around 2 months now, and have put 4500 miles on it and i dont know when it was last serviced.  Hopefully it will be done in two weeks time, as well as a complete set of new brakes all round.  Needs doing as im taking it for a short drive to Amsterdam in August  ::)

Think yourself fortunate! My V6 only returned 18.5 last month  :D  ::)

auto 2.5 td chipped ar 35 box and 172k behind it!! aircon on all the time, running to work and back which is just 5 miles from here , during the week and then longer runs at the weekend, around 200, /300 depending who i have to visit
its all low gear work in town obviously but its giving me 36.8 brim to brim same fuel station, running on esso normal diesel

Manual here, driven medium hard on short runs seems to be around 35-36. Motorway 41-43 with retro-fit cruise on.. Perfectly happy with that as she pulls well even though unchipped as yet.

Serviced very well mind, including coolant changes, clean outs etc.
