had the 64 f/code . did the diesel magic trick (3 times)
all was ok for about 6 weeks. no eml intermitently flashing until - i took my granddaughter for a ride out when the gauge got to about 30L I headed for a fillup. the petrol station was shut and by the time i reached one i was on fumes. eml blinking again. also i have just developed a hot start problem.. my question is could the running short of fuel be the cause of my prob - their is loads posted on dm
trick and plattys lift-pump overall, so iv,e no probs there - thanks in advance  :-/

I thought the diesel magic thing was to help clean the pump and give it new life...so if your pump is struggling then certainly it wont help having to work hard pumping the last bits out of the bottom of the tank...

Lift pump won't have liked fuel being run that low. Could be gummed up. Well worth giving it a clean out.

If it just a hot start issue and it fires up no problem when cold then how about this:
