my mate has a 2.5 v6 he's just had the head gasket done and now it's getting very hot...not quite in the red but nearly and it keeps stalling in traffic maybe 3 times in a short journey

why was head gasket changed as naff oil cooler will give same symtons and make a mess of water ways i speak from experiance with this

Are the radiator hoses and radiator its self getting hot when the engine is hot? If so, that rules out the thermostat being stuck.
Also are the cooling fans coming on at the correct time?
Temp should get to about 97c on the guage then the fans should kick in to cool it down again.

Oh I've just noticed you're on LPG, is this happening while running on LPG or petrol? or both?

Its not his car, its his mates as he mentioned at the top.

I suspect an airlock someware/incorrectly fitted waterpump which would cause head issues. Not sure on why that would cause it to stall though

do a paper clip test and post up codes

Just a Daft thought but did he put the HG on the right way round? its happened before to an oof member.
