What do you think of this Omega in white!!!!
« on: 15 July 2009, 14:29:42 »

I have found this on ebay, and i have to say i really like the colour.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180382372423&_trksid=p2759.l1259

what do you think about the oil pressure warning light, personally i think it is fine as in the owners manual it says that it is ok for the light to come on when idling.

Any oppinions please.

Oil light shouldn't be on whilst idling, but may be due to lack of servicing so a few short oil changes might cure it but no guarantees.
Airbag warning light, could be a fault, could be he's removed the dash without disconnecting the battery or could be he's put the wrong seats in when he swapped the interior.
End of the day it's a poverty spec 2 litre, mini facelift going off the lights unless they've been changed too so worth not a lot even in good condition.
There are better examples out there for not much more money so personally I'd give it a miss.

Theoretically I suppose it's possible but would be an absolute pig of a job and probably cost more than the car is worth.

what do you think about the oil pressure warning light,
Oil pressure has to drop to single figures before the oil warning light illuminates as a general rule, so if the oil warning light is coming on then the engine is already f*cked (assuming the switch itself isn't defective).

How can it be that basic if it has Leather seats.

Also, How come the engine is still working if there appears to be no oil pressure?

really i would like to go and see it and take a pressure sensor with me, fit it and see if it is the sensor tself.

All in all, is it a cheap car?

The seats will have been retro fitted from a later car and may not have got airbag sensors to connect. The oil light is a worry to be honest, the guy knows more than he is saying on the oil issue, so leave this one alone mate, better cars for sale on here with A/C and you will have some idea that the car has been looked after.

Sorry dude but i wouldn't touch it witha barge pole.
White ???   I mean white  ???

White ain't a cool colour..its plain ermmmmm white.
With so many great looking metallics out there ?  White ????

Also....Not sure I buy the reason for selling.
To go to the trouble of buying it and then trying to shift it days later for minor problems. No one expects to buy an oldish second hand car without the need to spend a few pounds on it.....Don't add up to me.

Also as mentioned get a V6.....the 2.0 litre engines go in Astra's, a car half the size and weight of an Omega.

If you want performance and style....a 2.0 litre WHITE Omega ain't the way to go !  My dad would love it though..He's 82 this year....right up his street.  ;D ;D
