That's quite high miles for a 2.0, but if looked after should be ok. I'd be worried by the lack of an MOT. He says it might only fail on the blow from the exhaust, but can he confirm this? If it needs lots of work doing to it, then I'd see no point in buying it. And getting 40-45 MPG????? Mine's a 2.2 manual saloon and struggles to get anything above 34. I very much doubt that figure is accurate.

Its another 2.0 which is too small an engine for an Omega, theres no way in hell he is getting 45mpg unless he is driving it on the motorway at 30mph and thats it  :D

I always worry too when the MOT runs out and the seller says it hardly needs anything, if it was that easy why not spend the £50 or whatever and get 12 months ticket on it, you would get your money back easy.

As in the other thread, i would look for a V6, theres lots out there.

Just my 2p  :)

For insurance purposes, i want a 2.0 and for other more minor servicing issues, on a philosophical level,  i dont like the concept of a V6, a normal engine is a four stroke so every 1 rotation of the crankshaft there is one cylinder firing but with a v6 it would be an imbalance. That is why i like the idea of a V8, V12 or V16

Appart from that does there appear to be anything wreong with the car?

Also are Omegas prone to rusting?

Insurance is an important issue, I'm 19 and my 2.2 costs me £192 per month just for 3rd party cover. If I could afford extra I would have a V6. It's very difficult to tell just from pictures, but it all appears ok. No big dents or rust patches, engine looks clean. But still be wary of the lack of an MOT. I believe Omega's rust on the rear arches, but to be honest not sure. If you're interested go and take a look before the end of the auction.

Yeah, insurance is important, i will be taking my driving test within a year and i would like a omega as my first car, mainly because of the 'Big Car' safety. I hate most hatchbacks and resent the fact that there are only a fraction of saloons available to the UK market whereas in france you can get a corsa saloon , a 206 saloon and a astra saloon.

sorry for the mini-rant!  ::)

If you don't mind me asking, how old are you? I had my Omega when I was 18, and used tio pay £340 a month. Have you checked how much the insurance will be? I wouldn't disuade you at all from having an Omega as a first car, it was mine. But I wouldn't say it's the best car to learn in and take a test in. In the UK you can get the Astra in saloon form, not the current 'H' but the previous Astra 'G' was available as a saloon. Of the Ford Focus saloon? But it's all down to personal prefeence, I wouldn't want any of them. I wanted an Omega, so I got one. Costs me a lot but I accept that, as it's my choice to have this car. If you want an Omega go and get one  :y

Hi, I don't know if you realised but the pictures of the car shown in the advert are of 2 different Omegas, the plates on the front are different to the rear and the wheels look different too :o.
