Automatic gearbox cut out
« on: 20 July 2009, 20:03:29 »

Not sure this is the right place to post but here goes.  I bought my Omega 2 weeks ago and it drove beautifully for the first. Cut out a couple of times when put into park last week and starting yesterday as I slow down for a junction or roundabout for instance the revs drop right off and the engine cuts out.  It doesn't do it every time but three times is a seven mile journey is three too often.  [smiley=sad.gif]Any ideas what is causing it and how expensive it would be to get fixed (Don't know enough about cars to attempt myself.

first thing would be to clean out the Idle control valve and the throttle bodies :)

it is probably your idle control valve,in theory you can clean them but personally ive not had a lot of luck with that so i tend to replace. :y
