Lack of power
« on: 24 July 2009, 12:24:36 »

I drive a 3.0 v6 elite auto 95 plate.
I have done the paperclip test, no codes everything works fine the car runs ok. BUT it seems to lack in power, ie foot down it does not seem to pull off as it should.
any Ideas what it could be?

There anyone local to you with a 3.0 Mig that you could compare performance?

Not pulling as well as you think it should is very subjective :)

I have to say though, mine flies down the road, especially when overtaking 50-70.  :o

Yep JK just lives down the road, He and his son in law both have a 3.0 and JK's pulls a lot better than mine.
my car pulls like crazy but it just seems not to have full power. motorway with 90 no probs and the car goes well over 100mph but in the lower speed it seems to lack power.

If you bring it over we can do a compression test ,its somewhere to start, it's no problem ,when did the problem start, if you want i will come to you and we can do the compression test at yours. The son in laws car is the same as your car ,maybe i have been lucky and got a really fast one, just let me know anytime--JK :y

First check that all the leads are good as well as the plugs and dispac then check that the air filter is not dirty. then check to see if the mulitrams are opening at the correct revs, the main culprit seems to be the rear one at the back of the plenium. also check the vac box in the pass side scuttle has not got the vac connection broken. there are 2 of these the other being down near the trumpets next to the rad.

Hi
It could be that the torque converter is no longer working properly, would need an autobox specialist to diagnose for sure.

Elite now gone.  Bought an X-Type 4x4.  If there had been an Omega 4x4 I would have bought that instead.  We really liked the Omega, but I wanted 4x4.
