exhaust manifold blowing...........

sorry if this been asked before,did search but couldn't find anything.....heard a "ticking" inside the car and upon inspection noticed driver side manifold blowing(take it they related)...is this going to be just the gasket or are they prone to cracking(can i tell without taking it off) like on the vectras....also how easy is it to change....

hi mate   ive got the same   and its a common fault on the 2.0  the fault is the gasket blows at the front then the manifold warps and the two front studs break off

V6 manifolds don't often warp, probably just a gasket

Replace all the studs and nuts too, and make sure you use a multilayer steel gasket (Elring or GM) - NOT a composite one.

Been there, got the t-shirt (and scratched knuckles)  ::)

how long roughly to do...got the essential tools(spanner and hammer ;D)..how much of the engine do i need to take apart

I would say between 3-4 hours for a first timer.

Or if you break a skrew.Then you need to take the head off to be drilled.They brek very easy. ;)

I was refering for 2.0 like my beloved which coast me alot last year to repear >:(
