Leaking Autobox
« on: 02 August 2009, 16:23:07 »

Posted a while back re atf leak from front of my autobox.  Removed box and replaced front seal on imput shaft.  Remained dry for a couple of weeks then started leaking again - needed to top up atf every 3 weeks.

Plan B this morning - took box out (again) and fitted another (completely dry) box.  Started at 10am drove car off ramps at 12:30 - checked fluid level and touch wood all seems dry and box working as it should.

Thats not a job I want to do again although it was easier 2nd time round.

I for one am impressed with your pereverance. I hope never to have to change an Omega gearbox again.

Might have to if the MOT man doesn't like my very small oil leak from the same place. But I shall wipe it just before going in.
