vacuum line behind the dash

Yesterday when i got busy with my radio i found this little hose lose behind my dash. Where is it for? It makes a suction noise when the engine is running.

do your heaters work ok? not to sure but it could be off one of your dials. can you put your hand in and see if there is any connection for it on one of the dials?

From past experience there is often a vacuum line to the fascia to draw air from the cabin over/through an air conditioning temperature sensor.
I'd suggest that's what it's for.
