Which is the most busy night on here?  to me weekends always seem quiet, after Friday night.
Sundays are normally too busy on our house to be on here.
Maybe a different night would get a bigger turnout?

Would Saturday evening be better? No TG to fit around and less people having to rush about for work in the morning. Thoughts anyone.

He doesn't know yet, but I have volunteered Loo-knee to set the next quiz next Sunday, possibly before Top Gear so families can join in.

That is 1 week's notice, so plenty of time to arrange your teams.

After a couple of constructive comments made to me, a couple of new rules for the next one (we are still tweaking things):

Max of 3 forum members per team (to prevent unbalanced teams, and to encourage more teams).  If more wives/family members want to join in, thats fine :y

Much shorter time to answer questions - there was too much web searches going on yesterday, which does render the quiz kinda pointless. With fewer team members, the hassles with everyone having their say is less of an issue.

Timing is swings and roundabouts. I know some, like Sir Jay W prefer a pre-TG slot, but I simply can't make it as I need to get the kids to bed between 7.30 and 8.30 (a long process!). You gain some, you lose some!  :-/

Would a 6:30 - 7:30 slot be better then?

Afraid not. SWMBO works from 5 every Sunday, so I'll be getting the kids' dinner ready around then. (Same timing applies to Saturday, too.)

I'd love to join in but  I rarely get a chance to go online at weekends as I've no broadband at home. :-[ I know broadband is quite cheap these days but apart from the forum, I'd not have much need for it as I'm online at work all week and do what I need then.

I think it would be (for me at least) better to change the quiz from sunday to saturday, as i too have to get up at 2am every Monday morning :y

As i have great fun with the quiz night i would hate to miss another one, but if the timing stays the way it is, then i will no longer be able to play :'(

Sorry could not play for the last 2 games, work committments did not allow it, Sunday nights for me can be i bit hard to comitt to as i usually sort out all my emails and meetings ready for Mondays etc.

If it was to change to Saturday (I can see there is a poll) i could play every week.

Let's not forget the point here.

1. The banter amongst the teams between questions is the funniest, and best, part in my opinion. Max of three forum members will reduce the fun for me.

2. A team of four or five sitting around a PC is no different to four or five on MSN discussing answers.

3. If the timings per question are reduced, this will reduce the time for banter. It takes less than 10 seconds to do a Google search; there aren't any prizes as it's a bit of fun. If people want to cheat then that's up to them and their conscience, Captain Zok was logged into our MSN window last night and would have seen the answers posted immediately. Mike Dundee definately never Googled any answers (I hope).

We are in danger of over complicating things here IMHO. Just give people plenty of notice of when the quiz is going to be and let them sort out who they want to play with and whether or not the time is right for them.

I am happy to participate at any time. Saturdays are no problem but it doesn't go quiet here until the kids are in bed and that's not till after 9.00 pm.

I was going by comments made by people anonymously viewing the quiz...

I will go with the flow.  We have built the system (nearly) and it sort of works.  Its up to people who want the quiz how/when/why its run as far as I'm concerned :y

My only condition is that it is open to all, and that other teams may join in, or individual members may join existing teams. Its all inclusive, and not just for the 'nags head backroom msn boys'.  Though I know you agree with me :y

Always. I value my postcount higher than Loony does his.  ::)

Agreed, must be open to all. I was laughing out loud, to the annoyance of Mrs Golfbuddy, last night.  ;D

I agree with Golfbuddy about the banter (although he must have been on a different team to the one I was on !  ;) ;D ;D).

However my own impression was that the timing between questions was just a little bit too long. Remember that each question produces banter (and discussion), but this wanes after a couple of minutes. If we had less time between and, say, 30 questions, that would produce more topics and thus more banter. Does that make sense?

Maybe a little less time in between questions.

Need at least 4 members in each team..If only for the banter.

Saturday night at 9pm maybe a better time for more members to join in.

But most of all this quiz is only in the early stages but its been worked so well by Jamie so pat on the back for him.

Also the questions that are set by the various memebers are a good mix so well done to them too.

Just my thoughts so lets get it sorted for a fixed time every week.

One final thing..No cheating you are only letting yourself and your team down.. :y
