Timing belt problem
« on: 21 August 2009, 20:57:41 »

Hi all.
Changing the timing belt on my 2.5 tourer.
Got the owners club dvd on the belt change which is really great so have everything all lined up great and locked in position but heres the but.
Line the 2 white lines up with the marks on the bottom of the crank, brings the belt round to the number 1 & 2 cams and the lines line up really well but when i get it round to the 3 & 4 cams the white lines are coming up about 1.5 to 2 inches short.
Is it me or the belt >:(. The belt is a gates belt bought from Autvaux as part of the kit. Everything else has gone on great. Any suggestions would be great.

Gates belt kits are fine, so might be something you overlooked mate  :-/

Good luck with sorting it out  :y
