Hi

I no nothing about this but im not sure if my turbo on my 2.5 diesel is working or not?

Anyone no an easy way to find out?
car is a 2.5cdtd(r reg)

Do you have a loss of power?Lots of black smoke etc.?

Do you hear a Whistling sound as you increase the revs?

I dont seem to hear a whistling but i dont have any black smoke?

I have only had the car two weeks so not sure how powerful it should be.

The 2.5TD isn't mega fast by any means, but you should feel a slight surge at about 1500rpm ish, followed by whistling if you have the window down. If there is no surge and no power could be a turbo related problem - maybe sticking wastegate?

In very simple terms, it's a pressure regulator that ensures the turbo can only provide a given amount of boost.

I used to drive a 2.5td as a taxi and i know it sounds strange but sometimes when the filters needed changing it felt totally flat if the turbo is working you feel it come in about 2000 rpm its not a big surge but you should notice the revs rise pretty fast plus as stated above check in your mirrors for black/grey smoke when its pulling
