Autobox Problem.
« on: 23 August 2009, 23:03:23 »

I've had a problem for a week or two with my Autobox being a bit thumpy into gears and sudden loss of drive and did try to check and refill to the level but only managed to get in about 3/4 of a litre due to the ridiculous angle at which the bottle has to be to squeeze it in so have now got hold of a length of pipe so i can go in via the engine bay.
 Today i went for about 5 miles or so and it was perfect but was just nearing home and turned left into a road accelerated to about 30 when it lost drive again and just reved. After a couple of pushes on the go pedal it was fine again, my ? is would this just be down to low fluid or could it be something else as i intend to do the level check tomorrow and whilst under there was wondering if there is anything else i should check out?

        Thanks,
                   Pete :).

Thanks dbug, that has put my mind at rest a bit and can only hope it's just low fluid level causing the problem so when done tomorrow it should be OK :y.

  I'll let you know ::) :-X.

 Update on my Autobox problem :).

 I jacked up the car today and put in about 1 & 1/2 litres of fluid before it started to run out again and on the test run seems much better now so hopefully sorted :-X :y.

           Thanks,

Was that with engine running or off ??? If OFF then it needs more fluid yet !!!  Auto box must be checked with engine running and vehicle level
