Ok, so I'm almost sure my coolant doesn't leak when I don't use cc. A previous pressure test came back good and it didn't lose pressure.

However, as I did it with the engine off, would part of the cooling/heating system have been isolated, and would this be the same with the car running but cc turned off?

If so, how can I make sure I pressure test all parts of the system with the engine off?

To do: Replace brake discs and pads; adjust already replaced shoes; check for leaks in oil cooler, cambelt area, crank seals, sump, dipstick; replace osf door; replace a tyre; clean, MOT.

The pressure test will reach all parts of the system. When the flow is stopped to the heater matrix (by the HBV) or the radiator (by the thermostat) the pressure will still be applied by the return pipe.

What you won't be testing is what happens if things are hot or moving/rotating.

The heater matrix (and radiator) are made of aluminium with plastic end tanks. Plastic expands much more than aluminium when it heats up.

The HBV has already been discussed.......

The water pump is hidden away on the Omega behind the cambelt.

Maybe another pressure test is required with a warm engine?

Good idea, will do when I get back from work today if it's not raining again, and I'll use the heater on my return so everythings up to temp.
