hi all my 2001 2.2 cdx auto petrol starts fine and idles but will not rev at all. any ideas please

Throttle switches, on either the throttle body or the accelerator itself is where I'd start looking!  ;)

came around this problem once, was a ecu problem, try disconnect your battery for 30 sec and see what happens.
Or borrow a tech and erase stored codes, i assume you have checked the wire?

If you want i can send you a how to on checking app sensor, you need to have a ohm tester, but it should be a easy job to do.
