climate panel, unplugging switches
« on: 24 September 2009, 17:41:26 »

hazards, heated seats, boot release, alarm button all have plugs in the back. How do there come off?

The blue ones,(not climate, they're easy enough) look like they slide out side ways ? Pulling them directly  out looks like the moulding will brake. Any tips?

That'd be the climate plug.

Each switch has 2 locking clips, and every loom plug goes a different way! A right pain in the harris!

Want a list cause I've got the walnut panel off this one?

The most of the big ones slide down,
the smaller ones pull out.
the cabel above the tc slides down but you need to take the gray fram from the tc out first.

Done this but can't remember, thought they all slid out with varying amounts of force.

ok, got round it for now and put it all back together, but i will go back in there at the weekend to get the Radio straight(its always been off centre in relation to the surrounding buttons etc)and may have to re do it all anyway.

The plugs i'm struggling with are the ones in the corners, top left and right, and bottom left and right(<-this one looks like a double, but staggered). Got the middle ones out, they pull straight out when you press the locking tabs.

Got the climate one out no issues there.

And yes its a face lift. Sorry should have said.

Note to self. Always move the electric seats forward so you can reach the dash better, and move the auto gear lever so you can get the radio out BEFORE disconnecting the battery and setting the alarm off twice. Bah!

Cheers. :-)

Bottom right only has 1 clip on top (between 2nd and 3rd buttons) and slides in towards where the radio was.

The 2 top switches have clips top and bottom and it's quite awkward to get to the bottom clips but doable.

Bottom left I left till last, pulled the plastic wood out a fair way and rotated towards the passenger side. This makes accessing the clips easier.
