I'm with swiftcover £220.

Three things you can do to reduce the premium

1. increase the voluntary excess.  my excess if £700.  Why?  I buy insurance to cover the things I cannot pay for not the things I can.  If i cause a few hundred quid damage I'm going to pay it direct and not claim (else they write the car off) .  however if I get a massive claim (god forbid for loss of life by killing someone or medical expenses - i'm covered)

2. restrict your mileage if you can

3. take all those crappy add ons off the quotes.  protected NCD is a total con.  they protect your discount but if you have an accident, they increase the premium before discount so you pay the same...
