LOWER LOWER LOW!

Hi i have a facelift v6 estate and am going to lower it only kits i can find for estate are -35mm but that wont make impact on massive arch gap on rear i can get -40mm for the saloon they should fit? any opions welcome really- maybe pics?  :P

There is a set of 30mm Irmscher lowering springs for an estate fro sale in the for sale section.

On an estate, the rear springs are different hence a saloon setup is not ideal.

Don't forget, if you lower your suspension you must tell your insurance company, else it will invalidate your insurance.

you could trapes round scrapyards looking on the back of cars at the suspension to see if anything has the same diameter springs and the same fitting shocks and check the lengths if you wanna go below 40mm drop you will have to fit shortened shock absorbers

ok, well just wondering if any difference with springs saloon and estate fronts will be same as saloon just rear? estate is much higher on rear so i guess that longer springs for extra weight so if i fit saloon springs will make car look more level instead of a hot rod stance... just an idea! p.s motor trade insurance rocks ;)

Quick tip on lowering - don't go mental!
As a rule of thumb, more than -30mm will bugger up your suspension geometry, wear you tyres quicker and the car wil handle alot worse UNLESS you build a dedicated set up with coil-overs, dial in things like caster and camber adjustments, Ackermann angle requirements etc.

-40 mm without doing 18's or 19's will look stoopid.

more than that with 19's and you will become good friends with your chiropractor!!

-30 / 35 will be fine (presume that as you have an estate you will be carrying things in the back from time to time?)

-30mm Eibach here with spacers to lift it back due to gas tank weight
