RAF Hercules XV179
« on: 10 December 2007, 14:10:28 »

I hope the Mods do not object to me posting this, if it is removed I will accept your decision

You may have read in the press that the families of those killed in XV179 (shot down in Afghanistan) will not be legally represented at the inquests later this year.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/wiltshire/7134919.stm

There are errors in this report as the Australian Government is NOT funding anything, The navigator's family are paying for this themselves.

This is another outrageous position taken by an outrageous government. If you agree with that statement then say so, by contacting your MP via this site:

http://www.theyworkforyou.com

It will even follow up your post to ensure that you get a reply! Otherwise they can trot out the ever familiar response that they have had very little in the way of protest over the issue. That must not happen!

Thank you for reading this.

it makes your blood boil when someone who lays down his/her life for queen and country and the family get crapped on from a great height.... i met a rsm from the royal artillery regt last week when i went round to install his washing machine as he did not have any plumbing when the original delivery occured it took wolverhampton council 3 months to do this and other jobs in his flat and they still have not completed the work completely i was disgusted that some one who was invalided out of the armed forces was being treated this way he was not asking for special treatment just to have heating and running water and not to have to keep ringing the council back up to tell em it had broke down again...i deliver to other members of the public a lot of em who i have seen carrying the delivery i have just made down the road to a2nd hand shop and sell it to em for a few quid so that they can get a quick fix and we like mugs redeliver back to em a few days later when they say they have been broke into and said item stolen.....If i did have the money i would leave this country and move to australia/new zealand as i hear the standard of living out there is far better than here...... :'( :'( :'(

I'll keep my gob shut because the last time I expressed my thoughts about this country, I got jumped on.

No I won't.

My Grandad fought for this country and he died on a filthy hospital (Heartlands on Brum). He was enprisoned by the Nazis three times ehich he escaped from (killing several Nazis in the process). If it wasn't for people like him and the soldiers that were shot down, we would all be speaking German or some other foreign language.

The government are a bunch of turds for not supporting the people that allows them to keep their high and might positions.

This is a disgrace......these aircraft were allowed to get into an unfit state due to lack of investment and maintenance.

If they were civil aircraft bound by CAA rules, they would be grounded.

The trouble is.....I dont see where the money is going to come from to put it right, we already have more debt than ever before and are borrowing stupid amounts every year (this government has the worst record of all time for debt).

Our current interest payments are close to £20B per year....on £500B of debt. People say Gordon Brown has been a good chancellor but, hes borrowed big to create that impression.

If you take into account public sector pension liabilities etc....we have over 1 Trillion quid of liabilities.....they keep this very quiet!
