Magic Roundabout
« on: 12 December 2007, 18:45:34 »

I came across this in the dark on Tuesday night. The Sat Nav threw a wobbly so I just shut my eyes and went for it. Whoever decided this is a good idea wants shooting.

TaxiDriver has probably seen it a few times.

Is that the one in Swindon?

Americans just love it (not) if they have a hire car.  (Not many roundabouts at all in the US)

That's a typical design as drawn by an autistic child....

Oh yes......go over it loads of times a day........works very well if you know how to use it correctly.

You can go around the centre island both clockwise and anticlockwise......so if one route accross is getting choked up you use another route across  :y

My old Tomtom didnt understand it and treated it like a normal roundabout..........however my 510 knows how to navigate it correctly  :y

Just remember........at each junction (---------- in the road) on the roundabout give way to your right!!

Its easy!!! But dont block the roundabout.......thats my pet hate!! As is with any roundabout!

Nope............no cameras on that roundabout.........only camera near is a red light one on a pedestrian crossing as you approach the magic roundabout

Next time you know your gonna be in Swindon, Pete, give me a shout, I can show you a burger king (that wont have ladies of the night plying their trade in the car park, but then you might have now set your sat nav to include mcd's as a favourite  ::) ;D ) closer to the magic roundabout and then show how you can go either way around it  :y
