MAF or Rocker Gasket
« on: 07 December 2009, 20:36:21 »

Just been reading a couple of other posts with cars having a similar problem to mine which is intermitant:
when you boot her 7/10 times she's fine a dissapears into the sunset as is meant to
On the other 3 times she will splutter poss miss fire really badly think clear herself and then go...
Sometimes it will take ages to clear in the meant time you look like you've put the latest kangeroo juice in her!!!!! even though its auto
If you accelerate gently without using kick down then its fine???
Also the management light is on intermintantlycould this be connected?
MPG = 18 on a good day...... got to be too low even for a 3.0???
Thanks for all the help?

Stab in the dark, crank sensor starting to fail. As Nigel suggests get the codes read and post back.

Sounds like the crank sensor to me....fairly classic symptoms of the unit failing...order another before it dies completely...don,t forget to check the shape of the connecting plug at the back of pleneum under scuttle..several types.
