help? had my omega 2.5 autobox rebuilt 2wks ago, since then when stopped with heater on it stinks of hot atf. Took it back last week, put car on lift, no leaks at all, is there a gearbox breather thats not been connected. thanks [smiley=dankk2.gif]

Sounds stupid but have they put the sump plug back in on the side of the box? Is it tightened enough? The Auto box breather pipe doesn't attach to anything as I have found out   :-[ but is just left sometimes cable tied so as to let the box run at atmospheric pressure. Have the garage filled up the power steering res spilling some on the manifold?  :-/

Autobox breather pipe fits on top of box - rubber tube ½" dia (approx) - top end under skuttle.

hope they havent put dex 3 in the pas reservoir.
Dexron 2 for pas
Dexron 3 for atf

I remember a couple of posts of a smell of engine oil when the heater was on. Iirc it was cam cover gasket leaking on the pass side, near the pollen filter. So pas fluid top up idea may be along the right lines perhaps?
