Heated seats
« on: 14 December 2009, 22:27:38 »

Tis that time of year so was looking forward to some creature comforts but seems its not to be .When I first got the mig just under 2 years ago both heated seats worked fine as they did last winter. This year, despit switches lighting up, no joy on either. I seem to recall reading on here somewhere that this is a common problem and that it is generally not a case of simply blown fuses and probably not worth the hassle/money to rectify. Is this true guys?

EDepends wether lather or fabric seats. On leather, the heater element is sewn onto the underside of the seat cover, fabric seats have a seperate element. Arm yourself with a multimeter on ohms & look for brakes in the element, it'll be the burnt bit!  ;D  ;D  ;D
Take cars re removing seat re airbags, and they're bl00dy heavy!  :y

..... and the base & lower back are wired in series with other.  :y

My drivers one heats but wont stop untill there is a burning smell. If it is a leather seat I think it is very hard to fix but you have the opposite problem. ;D

I believe it's possible to buy generic mats, Pedro might know whereto get them, & place them between the leather & e seat foam. It'll just take a bit longer for your bum to get warm.  ;)
Facelift & preface lift are wired diffrent too..
