Extended plenum on 2.5
« on: 16 December 2009, 15:53:03 »

I'm guessing it wouldn't be any big problem to fit a long nose plenum to a 2.5?

Guessing you'd need:

* The plenum + breather extension
* shorter front pipes

Throttle cable - I reckon you'd get away not changing it - seems to have lots of slack

Cruise cable - I have one from a facelift 3.0 if I need it...

Thoughts?  :y

its not really needed on the 2.5 is my understanding, only the 3.0 needed it for better breathing. It will just be a cosmetic upgrade IIC.

2.6 only got it due to the extra room needed for DBW

Well, I have 3.2 exhaust manifolds, 3.0 cams, and ported heads, so I'm considering it if I can get one  :y

Think tb is right, changed one short plenum to long on a 3.0 once, had a drive up the road and engine just cut out dead? changed back to short 3.0 and ok again, to this day i don't know why it did that?

Something in the back of my mind is telling me the throttle pot is different. Was the throttle pot and body from the long plenum used? What about the ICV? Can't be anything else really. The plenum itself will only have a subtle effect on the performance if noticeable at all.
