Traction control.
« on: 16 December 2007, 20:00:57 »

:-[I'm a little embarressed to be honest but in just over a year's Migging i've found out why my p&j bogged down in 1st gear for a second or two if i tried to pull away a bit quick but fine thereafter. I was thinking leads etc, turns out to be the TC was permanently on. If i start the car ther's no orange light on the dash but the TC is on (no wheelspin) If i start the car & hit the TC button the orange light displays on the dash but the TC is off. It's great, no need to rev or dump the clutch, just feather the throttle, slight opposite lock & you know the rest. I bought this car 'coz it's a big rwd & am SO pleased it behaves properly now, farkin chuffed in fact!
Anyway, is this how Migs TC is meant to work or is mine wired up arse about face? I would have thought you had to activate it whereas i have to de-activate mine. (& ido)!!!!! 8-)

Yes, the default is on.  You have to turn it off when needed.

I guess this way its safer, and all other cars are set up this way I think.

Yours is working correctly.  Should also flash should you give it too much when on (light off)

Yeah the light used to flash when it bogged down. Nice to be able to choose & to know it all works ok.

Nothing to worry about TD, if Schumaker ever commandeers your taxi he will not want the TC on anyway....   ;)

Yep. And just imagine if he passed someone he didn't like? Wouldn't want him using my Omega to punt them off the road into the kitty litter :-X

i dont like the omega TC at all, its more dangerous that safe imo (for me anyway).

If its like the brother in law (who lives in Munich and is married to one of out square headed europeon collegues)  then they insure the car with restrictions against age and convictions so any driver can drive it....very different to here.

Yes this could end up in tears, but small risk to take considering that you can auction the taxi on eBay afterwrds.... 'driven by Schumi, Buy Now price £29,999'
