1998 2.5 td auto water pump a rad replace
« on: 13 January 2010, 10:32:16 »

Hi Folks

Im looking to change both as radiator was leaking during cold spell and i didnt notice, as temp guage dint show any issues ,ive  now  got squealing from engine etc which im assuming is pump due to no water . Ive looked but cant see any how to's on here ive removed the 2 clips that hold the radiator in but it wont budge more than 5 inches upwards and that s with me helping the old radiator out with a trolley jack and a block of wood.

Is there any how to articles for this as im a tight a*se and dont want to pay anyone  for something i can possibly do myself.

thanks

Phil

Probably the air-con pipes still attached?

Also the electrical connections for fans and thermal switch.

Best thing you can do is to goi to the Maintenance Guides section and follow the guides that are given there. Its what I do and I have not been given bum info either!
One or two I have added a little improvement to for my own benefit.

Think there are 2 screws near top (small self tappers), the 2 clips, and the oil cooler pipes if auto.

A/C pipes can make it tight.

Pump - remove viscous, remove belt, remove pulley over waterpump, then remove pump. Dead easy
