Thanks for the replies.
No codes (except 12), yes it did start when the 'icon' came on.
Also when starting the engine the revs would 'blip' to 1100 rpm then settle at 600rpm, this no longer happens.
Something is wrong, but what ?

give all the sensor plugs a clean may just be a dry joint some were, or disconect the battry and leave off for an hour see if that re sorts it.

Thanks again,
What part of the 'engine management system' causes the 'throttle blip' when the engine is started and what could cause it to stop working ?
The manual states "Do not to press the accelerator pedal when starting the engine"

'throttle blip' in what way do you mean? there is a sensor on the throttle black box on left side it may need cleaning in side with some switch cleaner needs to come off to do it and spray in side the hole and then shake it and lev to dry :y

Brilliant !!!
Due to weather loads of 'emulsion' around the breathers, could be stuck around the sensor, will look tomorrow, cheers.

Ok, took the throttle body off, things looked clean, all the 'emulion' had gone having done a few hundred motorway miles.
Put it all back together and 'yes' I have the start up 'throttle blip' back, not sure why, dirt or bad wire connection.
Thanks for the interest & help.
