Cam cover gasket questions
« on: 18 January 2010, 15:47:58 »

Despite having my cam cover gaskets done last year it appears they have gone again and are the cause of my oil leakage.

I stuck my hand around the back of the cam cover and there was definately dirty oil there, which is probably the cause. Is this a common place for the leak? I seem to recall either Entwood or Martin Imber, saying that it runs doen the back and drips off the auto box. Apologies if it wasn't.

I've also noticed oil on top of the trumpet which comes out of the throttle. However, I did clean the breathers and had the cam covers changed after I cleaned the breathers. Any ideas whats happended here.

Lastly, a bit of a subjective question, but how easy is it to change the cam cover gaskets yourself? Can you do it individually or should you have a mate? or be the mate?  ;D

And how long would it take and what can go wrong being a novice?
Sorry for all the questions.
