MV6 and 19 inch alloys
« on: 17 January 2010, 22:37:10 »

Hello, does anyone know for sure if a standard 2001 MV6 2.6 can take 19 inch wheels without interference of wheel arches and touching anywhere when turning, and if they dont is there a suggested tyre size?,regards.

Mainly depends on width and offset of the wheel and rolling radius of wheel/tyre combination.

I've seen an Omega on 20's before now.

Get the right info from somewhere like www.azev.de

I've got 19's on my elite, these pics are as standard fit with no mods. I now have 15mil spacers on front and 25mil on rear. Tyre size is 255/35/19 rear and 235/35/19 on front, you can run 40 profile tyres too.
Must remember yours will sit 15mil lower than mine as the MV6 has slighty shorter springs. You can fit with 235/35/19 all round with no mods and it doesn't catch anywhere to answer your question.

so the 19 inch snowflakes will fit ok with 235/35/19,the question i have now is, what are the spacers mentioned, where do you get them and what purpose do they serve?

If you fit 235/35/19 the gap between the tyre and suspension mount is tiny on front, so fitting 15mil spacers brings them away and also fills the arch, so the rears need fitting too or the car looks silly.
DO NOT buy cheap spacer, or you will get wheel wobble all the time, you MUST only buy Eibach hub centric spacers and get them imported (takes 2weeks).
This is were I got mine from, and Nathan (Albatross) whos car can be seen in the calendar pics, I got all my advice from him and I'm sure if you PM him he will say the same.  It will cost you £200 for both front and back, but you dont get nuts for the front, If you want I know a guy who supplies the longer nuts and also longer locking nuts, these cost about £30 and its very very hard to find a supplier for the longer nuts.
Your speedo will be out by about 4 miles an hour too, doing 70mph on speedo is 74mph so be warned.
I bought my wheels with budget tyres on and found the grip to be real poor, so bought some dunlop sport maxx for rear and pirelli p zeros for front and its awesome now, but remember if your buying them with no tyres, your looking at another £230 for spacers and £500plus for new branded tyres, but there are plenty of part warns on ebay if you want to risk it.
For what ever reason, 19" snowflakes seam to the "in wheels" at the minute and are demanding big money, up to £850/900 with good tyres and in good nick. I declared them on my insurance, with a like for like replacement and my premium went up £300, not bad i supose because there £3000 at vauxhall new.
But dam they look sexy on an omega......

This is nathans car, and where all my inspiration for snowflakes came from this pic and I'm sure he wont mind me posting it here.
His is pictured with spacers fitted and and you can see the 2 differences between the car stances and looks with my earlier photos.
This car just came second in the voting for the OOF calendar, so that says enough for me...  :y  :y  :y  :y  :y Top job Nath...

My spacers on the Carlton  - 15mm - are from DTMotorsport in Essex. Top guys, know their stuff and UK agents for Azev wheels.
