tricky one for ya's
« on: 18 January 2010, 20:25:29 »

i have noticed a wierd noise from my engine.

just before crimbo my power steering pump blew.99% sure its it.havnt got round to fixing it yet.but thats not my question.

as the car hasnt turned a wheel in around 4 weeks ive been going out and letting it idle 4 a while just 2 keep it running.but since the pump has blew it has been making a weird noise.i never noticed it before the s/p blew.but that doesnt mean it wasnt there

when i give it a few revs (mayb 2/3thousand) and let it off, as soon as the revs start to drop maybe after a second or so it will let a carck/grinding/light crunching noise out of it.its a quick noise.not prolonged.it wil also do this the odd time when just idleing.but very rarely! there is no other rattles/crunching/grinding out of the engine. sorry but thats the best i can describe it.any help will be greatly appriciated!!

many thanks
lew

You ain't giving anything away with that description.

My advice....fix the fault you know exists before you go looking for a further fault that you think exists (in other words, the noises could well be directly related to the already known fault).

Describing the noise isn't enough, and as you have already stated that it started when your PAS pump failed........
