head gasket problems

hi everyone i used to have a omega 2.0 and decided to buy a mv6 model but all of a sudden the engine started to run funny and my temp went up so i stopped and noticed i had no water and thought il check the oil and saw brown stuff im assuming its head gaskets or can anyone tell me if it could be somthing eles its just clocked 102000 miles on a 1999 t plate

what dose it do when you have water in, oil in water i mean. :y

Is the milky oil just in the cap or on the dipstick too?

You need to refill the header tank (and make sure there are no airlocks) and see what happens... There are more than one cause of coolant loss ;) ;)

do you know if it has been stud for a long time before you got it, as that could be the problem with the oil.
is there oil in the water as that can show if the head has gone or not.

On a V6 oil in water normally a sign of oil cooler failure, water in oil probably head gasket.

V6's are not known for head gasket failure being a problem.
When they do Head gaskets generally blow between the cylinders themselves or into an adjacent waterway. Blown between the cylinders themselves makes it run unevenly. If its into a waterway it bubbles through and pressurises the header tank making it smell of fuel/exhaust.
A blown oil cooler has different symptoms.
Is it using coolant? Is it leaking coolant? What colour is the oil itself on the end of the dipstick, not the muck in the filler cap?
Is the breather system working correctly?
Best bet is to have a local OOFer have a look at it.
Bet one will be onto you anyway!

hi my car was stood for 2 weeks and all of a sudden i had lost all my water and when i looked at oil it looks brown on the dip stick i removed my sump plug today and a shed load of water came out first and then the brown stuff would an oil cooler cause this or would that react the other way are the engines known for cracking
