Can anyone confirm that the thread on the sump plug is M14 x 1.5 pitch?
It's for the crappy Astra, although it's still oil tight, the thread is buggered, presumably crossed at some time before I got it. I dug out my spare new sump plug, O ring type, and I had a search through all my taps & dies, the first tap I came across was a M14 tap ........ but 2 mm pitch  I was sure I had thread gauges somewhere ..... but if I do I can't find them.  :-?

Don't take my word for it, but I've got 14 x 1.25 in my need.  Maybe that was tractor though.

Isn't that for the spark plugs?  :-/
I'll dig out a M10 bolt, they're 1.5mm pitch (tapping drill is 8.5mm) and compare them tomorrow, unless I find my thread gauges

I dont know what the thread is, but I do Know that the female threaded part of the sump on vauxhalls is far to shallow. it is a lot less than the equivalent nut depth would be, making it all to easy to strip the thread through over tightening

IIRC didn't someone (may have been James V6) use a sparkplug as a temp bodge

M14 x 1.5 but, we used an M14 x 1.25 helicoil kit and fitted a Peugeot sump plug
