Fitting of new interior door grab handle
« on: 14 February 2010, 18:17:41 »

Hi Chaps,
I have a new door grab handle(incorporates the electric window switches) to fit on the drivers door.I have an Elite 2.6.The current one has been badly scored by the previous owner whom must have had sharp rings on his hand.Do I need to take the whole door card off to fit this?.

Common thing on the facelift mate, mine exactly the same too,and the kids think its great to in the back to have a sneaky scratch. As for replacing it,i beleive you do have to take the whole door card off, this is just one thing i have to get done to mine this summer,as it does start to look a mess. ::)

Right, yes doorcard off, then you need to chisel off the dozen or so plastic rivets. These can be replaced by self tappers, Well worth doing, not difficult.
See pic of doorcard with holes;)
