Dashboard Switches.
« on: 15 February 2010, 22:35:23 »

Hey guys,

This may be a bit sad, but i've started looking through hundreds of pictures of different spec Omegas trying to fid out what a certain switch is...

My Omega is only a GLS so it doesn't have any toys atall. However after a recent trip to the local scrapyard I took a handfull of dashboard switches so I could remove the blanking pieces and make it look a bit better to those who may have thought my car was rubbish.
I've got from left to right:
Heated Seat, BLANK, Alarm, Hazards, Air-con, Re-circulated air, Traction Control and another Heated Seat.

Does anyone know what the blank should be ?

Many thanks,
Kris.

I see. Do you know what spec had the rear blind ?

Hope it wasn't an Elite as the closest scrapyard to me doesn't have one.

Cheers,

Can't wait to tell the girlfriend we've got another exciting weekend searching scrapyards, walking through shit, climbing in and out of smashed up damp cars covered in glass !

She'll love it !

My 1994 CD 2.5 V6 had a rear blind.

I think I read somewhere that it was standard on the very early cars but became optional later :-/

How can i get the meaning of those switches?

i have an Omega 1988 and the most right switch is on sometimes while driving, but i dont know what does it mean?!!!

is there a manual, are those switches specific to Opel or are they international standard?

Have you got a photo you can post?

There were some differences between the Opel and Vauxhall specifications but the symbols are unlikely to be different.

If your car is 1988 then it's an Omega A which Vauxhall called a Carlton!  ;) This site is mostly for Omega B's  :y

1988 (if correct) would be our Carlton rather than Omega.  But post a pic - someone will know.

Yes, it is an Omega A, i have a deep respect for the car, are you sure this site is only for B type? or is it that most of the posts are about B type?
thanks
