Tech 2 HELP
« on: 17 February 2010, 05:52:51 »

I have just taken my 2.0 petrol to a friend who owns a workshop with a tech 2 comp.
When trying to reset my new remote, the system just kept coming up "waiting for data" and would not move from this. any ideas would help
thanks :'(

You might be prompted for the immobiliser code from the car pass but this is not the problem in this case.

Sounds like you are selecting the wrong ECU or one that's not present (note: you want the alarm ECU if the car has one, not "Central Locking"). Either that or the car and model year has been incorrectly entered.

What are you actually trying to achieve? Pair a new key with the car? Are we talking about pairing the remote fob or the immobiliser transponder?

Kevin Wood is right - if its a car with alarm, there is no central locking ECU (the alarm one performs the same function).
