That's exactly what is happening, problem was there from the first start after a new cam belt was fitted.
Sometimes (most) engine turns over but does not start, but always starts on the second stroke of the key.
3k since cam belt replaced (excellent job) but no problem before.
The engine runs better than ever apart from this start problem.

Crank sensor changed twice? Latest one is it pattern or genuine, how was the cable routed?

Both genuine, 70k between changes, routed away hot and cold things, cable, connectors look fine.
