Hello, My Elite is fitted with an ncdc 2013. I've had the car for about a year and I've only just found the sat nav disc for it. The sat nav just seems to be an arrow pointing to the destination as the crow flies. Am I doing something wrong or is it just a very basic sat nav? Dave

I just could'nt believe that it was that sh1t. Bit disapointed really. There doesnt seem to be a voice guiding you. At the start the voice say "destination is indicated" and thats it.

I really hate this system and I would be fit a Pioneer instead the original NCDC... But I loose my CID screen and all of his functionality!! I can't do this... For the voice, you can unable or disable it in the options...

Thanks for that. I've only just started using it. It doesnt seem very good up to now.

Would recommend switching it off and getting a TomTom, they are cheap enough and really good as a guide - don't know how i ever mamaged without my Jane, and i can use it on different vehicles  ;)
 still need to use your common sense, as i have been up one or two blind alleys, but the system will always find a way round.

I quite like the factory satnav and colour screen albeit that its let down by lack of postcode input.  Its quick to get a fix and holds that fix even when in very long tunnels as it also uses vehicle movement from incar sensors (so I'm told).

Also like the zoom function and the pop up intersection zoom when negotiating complex and busy roundabouts.  When approaching a junction, you get accurate info as to when to turn as well, rather than a few hundred yards out which you can get with aftermarket.

Sounds like yours is not working properly though....

I am almost sure mine is NCDC 2013 and it (SatNav) seems fine to me. She gives clear and precise instructions.
Dunno where the disc is though.
I cannot get the cartridge out, but I am assuming it is in there.
Used it for the recent Journey to France and worked well.
But only 3 roads between Merthyr and France IIRC.
A470, M4, M25, M3, oh and the A16. So that makes 5 roads.

To actually BUY one and fit it retro would be big bucks I am assuming.

CID makes the whole unit better IMHO. Would echo what Hotel21 says about intersection zoom and POI's being displayed which you don't get with the GID display.

Telematics is also worth having but is a very rare option.

Did it work fine in France and showed all roads?  If so, sounds like you have a European CD in as opposed to the UK, thus showing only the major routes.

I sourced my recent genuine UK disc from German E-bay for less than 10 Euro, delivered.....   ;)

The European CD is in Glove box, but it worked in France, but I think I was only on one road and that was the A16 in Calais, and I was there for 35 minutes to do what needed and then took the A16 to Adenkirke.
But I have never seen the UK disc
