CHRISTMAS CHAOS................
« on: 23 December 2007, 09:02:01 »

Well had a couple of last minute doo daa's to get yesterday, did'nt get the car back till 12 yesterday, went to Asda Old kent road, forget it :(, no chance of parking, went to go to peckham, traffic was solid, done a u-trun back to the hoose, parked up and walked into peckham. Had a jaunt back up to Asda at 5.30 p.m. again no chance, so went back at 8 o'clock, spent half an hour just waiting at the checkout got back at nine, place was still mobbed  :(

You who can go shopping today are very lucky people, the shops donīt open on Sundays here, so you can Imagine what it was like yesterday, the shops were so full that you couldīnt fall over, even if you wanted to :(

I've done a couple of ring and reserves at argos. I love watching them all queue while I breeze to the counter. ;D

Why do people mob the supermarkets before Christmas these days? The shops are all open again on 27th December anyway. Surely people can't eat that much in two days.

When I was younger, the shops shut on Christmas Eve, or on the 23rd if it was a Saturday, and didn't open again until January 2nd. You had to stock up because the shops weren't open for a week. The newsagent maybe opened for a couple of hours on a few days in between so you could get the papers and maybe a pint of milk.

I won't be going to the supermarket again this year. In fairness, I haven't been to the supermarket since August but that's not the point.  ;D
